With a resume that spans across multiple industries, Oduok is the true definition of a trailblazer. Seven years ago, she founded Ladybrille out of a desire to reverse the de-marginalization of the African woman and girl child. Ladybrille remains a pioneer website which celebrates brilliant women and provides news and resources on African fashion, entertainment, business and law. In addition, Ladybrille also provides a platform for celebrating African women entrepreneurs including visibility and resources to existing businesses and mentorship opportunities for start-ups. A self-proclaimed “Certified Game Changer,” she is also the owner of Africa Music Law, a website founded to provide African music professionals with legal, financial and business relationship resources. Oduok is also the Co-founder of Ebitu Law Group based in in California which provides legal services including fashion and entertainment law.

 

Oduok has received several recognitions for her contribution to the advancement of Africa’s creative industries. She was named as one of AWP Network’s 2013 African Power Women and Applause Africa’s 40 under 40 leaders of African Heritage in the Diaspora. In 2014, she was nominated for the Archbishop Tutu Fellowship Programme.

 

She was a 2012 NEA nominee for “Media Personality of the Year” and a 2010 nominee of South Africa’s AFI Fashion Awards for her “Outstanding Contribution to Fashion Communications.” A well-known legal commentator and speaker, she recently authored a soon-to-be published book for Nigerian entertainment professionals titled “Nigerian Music Industry & the Law, a Nigerian Artist’s Guide to Success in the Music Business.”

Education: Corona School, Ikoyi. and Grange Secondary School, both in Lagos, before going to Rugby School in the United Kingdom for his GCSE and A-Levels. Boston College (BC), to study Accounting and Business Management and graduated in 2010.

 

In 2014, he was listed by Forbes as one of the 30 Most Promising Young Entrepreneurs In Africa.

 

He moved to New York City to work with Carlyle Group and as an associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), where he earned his CPA (Certified Public Accountant) credentials.

 

Cardoso started Easy Taxi in Nigeria in 2013 because he wanted a simple way to aid commuting in Lagos. He also mentioned that he hoped to standardize pricing of taxis around the country. Easy Taxi under his watch grew to be one of the most used taxi hailing apps in Lagos as well as Abuja. Easy Taxi is a free smartphone application that allows users to request taxis in the easiest way possible. The app uses GPS to connect users to the drivers closest to them and then sends the user the drivers’ information and allows the user to track the driver on the map in real time. Present in 30 countries, Nigeria was the first country to launch it in Africa and currently has a network of over 400 drivers in Lagos with services extended to Abuja.

 

Although still affiliated with the company, he stepped down as the CEO in January, 2015

MARIAMA CAMARA, a New York City based sustainable fashion brand  and  the Co-founder of There Is No Limit Foundation. She is an entrepreneur, humanitarian and advocate for women and girls, born in the Republic of Guinea, West Africa. Mariama is one of the most influential African woman in philanthropy, fashion and entrepreneurship. Her inspiring presence reflects her power, optimism and energy.  Her entrepreneurial spirit and humanitarian work has led her to interact with some of the most influential individuals in the business, fashion, entertainment, political, and nonprofit sectors. She lived in Senegal and has travelled to various countries in Africa, the Americas and Europe. She moved to New York City in 2001 and started working in fashion.

In May 2014, Cosmopolitan Magazine choose Mariama as a fun, fearless female and referred to her as a dream weaver. Mariama was also featured in New York Magazine  “the Cut” as the Humanitarian giving back through Fashion and Revlon final 15th provocateur. Mariama is part of the cast of Dream Girl Film, a documentary showcasing female entrepreneurs of New York City. Her face has been seen in New York Times, and Wall Street Journal. Through her Fashion Production, Mariama’s focus is on working with artisans to create unique textile and accessories for consumers, emerging and established brand internationally and developing talents throughout Africa.

 

The Women artisans in There Is No Limit Foundation Association of Women Tie-Dyers founded by Mariama & Aissata are the first ones in the Republic of Guinea to get the opportunity to showcase their work internationally through a collaboration with fashion designer, Tory Burch.Their -one- of- a- kind handmade prints were showcased in her Spring 2013 collection at the New York Mercedes Benz Fashion week .In addition, the blue jasmyn dress featured in the collection was worn by the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.

In 2009, after the death of their father, they were saddled with the responsibility to fund their studies in UNILAG and also take care of their mother and seven younger siblings. They decided to approach life differently: One of them dropped out from school. They both went on to acquire skills on how to bake and cook.

 

They established SpeedMeals Catering Ltd; a food and services company with a mission to deliver healthy meals on time to busy workers and corporate organizations.

 

The company has been on a steady growth and has won many local and international awards including: Grand prize Samsung West Africa Outstanding Young Entrepreneur Awards (2012). United Nations Sukuma Young Minds by the Bridge Leadership Foundation (2012). Nominated by African Awards for Entrepreneurship as “Outstanding Small and Growing Business in Africa (2012). Winner, 2012 Global Foundation Young Entrepreneurs of the Year Award, etc.

 

The Igwe Twins have trained over 365 unemployed youths through their opportunity of a lifetime project. They recently launched the YEAST Project; a job creation strategy with a vision to create 20million jibs. Currently they are set to train 100 youths as chefs.

Herieth is a Tanzanian model who has walked for Diane von Fürstenberg, Lacoste, Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Armani, Cavalli and 3.1 Phillip Lim.

 

She moved to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada at the age of 14 due to her mother being a diplomat. She was discovered when she went to an open call at Angie’s AMTI, a model agency based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. She signed with Women Management New York in June 2010. Herieth has appeared in editorials for Vogue Italia magazine, i-D, wonderland and Teen Vogue. Herieth appeared on a Vogue Italia cover with Arizona Muse and Freja Beha.

 

In July 2011 she was the cover model of Canadian Elle. The caption on the cover read: “Naomi Move Over . Why We’re Hot For Herieth.” She was one of three models in the Tom Ford Fall/Winter 2013 campaign, photographed by Tom Ford. This campaign was named one of the top ten campaigns of Fall 2013 by The Business of Fashion and by Racked.com. Herieth has appeared in beauty campaigns for cKone and Tom Ford.
